“Solstice” is a Mini Bang event dedicated to the pairing SukuFushi (Ryoumen Sukuna x Fushiguro Megumi) from the series Jujutsu Kaisen.

It is a time-limited challenge where writers and artists will pair up to create content, then post their creations at the end during a specified posting period to create an explosion, or “big bang”, of new content for the fandom. The event is scheduled to run from April to September; for more info, kindly refer to our schedule here.

The format is simple: Writers sign up to take part and begin writing their stories. Artists will submit claims based on the writers’ summaries/pitches, and will be paired up to create art for the accompanying fics.

The theme for this event is “Summer”; from beach days and summer vacays, to fireworks and festivals, we welcome your creativity in interpreting this theme!

This is both a SFW and a NSFW event, but participants must be over 18 to sign up.

What is the minimum word count for this Mini Bang?
The minimum word count for fics is 5,000 words. If you would like to aim for a higher word count e.g. 10,000 and above, you’re more than welcome to! But because this is a Mini Bang, we only require that you hit a minimum of 5,000 words for your fic by August 20th.

What about artists?
The minimum requirement for art is one complete illustration, fully-coloured, by August 20th. Background is optional.

What are the roles I can sign up for?
You can sign up as a writer, artist, beta, pinch-hitter (artist), or a cheerleader! A description of each role is as follows:

Writer:
Create one fic (with a minimum word count of 5,000 words) that fits the theme by the target deadline. The fic can be a one-shot, or part of a longer series as long as it has not been published before, and whatever is posted during the posting period must hit the minimum word count. Writers will be required to submit their prompts/ideas for what they’d like to create during sign-ups; this can still be edited before artist claims open (on May 25th).

Artist:
Create one illustration for a fic that they will be assigned to by the target deadline. Artists will submit claims for their top five choices, chosen from a list of anonymous prompts submitted by the writers. Mods will then do their best to pair artists with the stories of their choices. Depending on the number of sign-ups, more than one artist may be assigned to a fic, or multiple fics may be illustrated by the same artist (the latter will only be offered to those who have indicated during sign-ups that they are comfortable with producing more than one illustration).

Beta:
Betas help to proofread fics before posting, ensuring grammar and flow are in tip-top shape. Writers will be asked if they would like a beta assigned to their team during sign-ups; if there are insufficient betas signed up, the mods will step in.

Pinch-hitter (artist):
Sometimes life hits hard, or participants may have to drop out for various reasons. When that happens, our pinch-hitters step in! As pinch-hitter, you will be contacted in the event of drop-outs to create an illustration. Pinch-hitters will have an extended posting period (September 18th - 24th) to post their works.

Cheerleader:
Don’t know what to create, but would like to contribute by cheering our creators on? Sign up as cheerleader! Cheerleaders are a little bit like spectators; by signing up as cheerleader, we encourage you to like, comment, retweet, or provide encouragement and feedback to our creators during the posting period. Cheerleaders are allowed in the general Discord channels as well, to support our creators during the creation process or just hang out.

Can I sign up for multiple roles?
Yes you can! But do take into account the commitment level required, and if for any reason you need to drop out from any of the roles you signed up for, kindly let a mod know as soon as possible!

What kind of content is allowed for this event?
We welcome all sorts, as long as it’s a. SukuFushi, and b. falls under the theme of “Summer”. For writers submitting prompts, if it doesn’t fit either of these requirements, you may be requested to change or amend your prompt so that it fits.

Will this event allow spoilers?
Yes, it will! All participants will be requested to use appropriate spoiler tags or channels if discussing manga/movie-spoilers in the Discord server, but please be aware that this event will assume that participants are caught up with manga spoilers and allow discussion as such.
